Exploring Seadrift, TX From Dad’s RV Park

Seadrift sits on the northeast shore of San Antonio Bay, about 30 miles southeast of Dad’s RV Park. Dow’s Seadrift Operations on Highway 185 has more than 1,000 employees and contractors, and it’s Dow’s second-largest site in Texas. Anglers and duck hunters come for the bay and the marsh.

Seadrift Paddling Trail

This Texas Parks and Wildlife trail covers about 20 miles of water. One 3.3-mile leg runs from Swan Point to Seadrift Bayfront Park. Paddlers catch red drum and speckled trout, and they often see dolphins and roseate spoonbills along the way.

Guadalupe Delta Wildlife Management Area

The WMA’s four units cover about 7,411 acres across three counties. Hunters with permits can hunt waterfowl and alligators there. Birders can use a wheelchair-accessible viewing platform on SH 35.

Seadrift Bayfront Park

The park on Bay Avenue has a concrete boat ramp, parking, and restrooms. It’s also the end of the paddling trail and the last stretch of the Texas Water Safari canoe race.
